HAIRDRESSER TRIES DRUGSTORE HAIR PRODUCTS

Hi Beautiful! I took a little trip to the good old drugstore. I found so many interesting new haircare products that I wanted to give a shot. A lot were good and a lot missed the mark.

  • Hey Brad! I use the 'blush' batiste on my professionally coloured copper hair, and I used it on my natural brown, and I love it.. I never got a white cast that horrid. So maybe the original is a flop, personally never tried it.

  • I have VERY thin long hair but i have a LOT of hair on my head... dry conditioner seems like something i need and i didn't even know it exested lol My ends get beyond knotted and tangled on second day (well all the time... thin hair problems) so maybe i'll try this out. The oils i use work great but weigh my hair down a lot. ps. brad... love ya.. Batiste said hold at least 6 inches away from the head while spraying lol!! that's why you get a hard white cast you where holding it too close. I have used this product for 5 years and yeahhh it leaves some white residue but if you hold it far enough away you can brush it out no problem. although not your mothers is horrible. i have bought a few of their dry shampoo's and they all leave my hair feeling and looking MORE oily than before. idk how people get it to work for them.

  • What product for example shampoo, supplements or sprays to use to support oily hair? I get really oily and greasy hair after 1/2 to 2 days after washing - I use head and shoulders 2 in 1 currently because I had a case of dandruff, it seems to be supporting that but I’ve always had an issue with grease and oil no matter what I use, I think it’s a hormone imbalance but if you have any tips or products that are affordable they would be much appreciated

  • Honestly I always get batiste dry shampoo, only because of the hype. Me not knowing any better just thought that was the best that dry shampoo got. HATE the white spots it leaves and on my dark hair it makes me look like I’m turning grey. Thank you so much for this review I didn’t know I needed!

  • I used Batiste for years and it somewhat works for me but I noticed the white cast even after working with it and brushing it out. It might not be as white but it’s definitely lighter. Other things work way better for my hair. I do have super, super thick hair though so maybe that has something to do with it. Idk. My biggest complaint with it though is how hard it is to wash out of my hair.

  • Omg I'm dying laughing. I got a sample of batiste in the mail. So before you sprayed I was like "oh God toxic waste land smell" and my light hair also got that nasty white spots. I tossed it!!!

  • Okay, from a fellow hairstylist and avid dry shampoo user, if you rub the dry shampoo into the scalp and THEN brush it through, the white cast will go away!! I use a non-aerosol dry shampoo and its super important to rub it in vigorously because its literally white powder.

    Madelyn LindleyMadelyn LindleyDay ago
  • Sorry Brad but I stand by Batiste. I've used two or three expensive dry shampoos from Sephora and they were crap. The Batiste doesn't leave a white residue on my dark hair. You have to leave it on for a few minutes, rub it in, then brush it out. It gives me an extra two days between washes which is amazing in summer bc I get a sweaty scalp. I also like Psst brand dry shampoo as well.

  • Honestly if your hair is that greasy, there comes a point when dry shampoo will not save it and you may actually have to wash your hair. And I also swear by batiste and I have dark curly hair, but I love it for the weeks when I do blow out and straight styles!

  • Have you considered using synthetic mica in your products instead? I’ve heard a lot of big companies are trying to avoid using mica on account that there’s a high chance it was mined by children workers, though some companies are also choosing to work with mining communities instead to help against child labor.

  • Batiste is so good!! I use it all the time! it didn't work because of the way you applied it, you have to take a little bit more time, and take sections and apply it like that, worth the extra two minutes as it really works and always leaves hair looking freshly washed so if I were you id give another try. p.s you should have got the cherry or tropical one cause they smell amazing. LY brad!

  • Batiste is actually so horrible I’m unsure as to why so many people use it. Your hair gets oily again after a couple minutes and it doesn’t offer any volume whatsoever. Also, it has that nasty chalky feeling that makes ur hair feel so heavy and gunky. The only dry shampoo that has ever worked for me is the brand “Big Sexy Hair” but it’s a little expensive, 18 bucks for a tinnnyyyy can (3.4 oz)

  • Brad you need to section into the hair and spray it near the roots to absorb the oil. Then massage and comb through it. I usually don't spray it on the surface of the hair, it wouldn't do anything and will form the white cast.

  • Keep doing more drugstore videos! Can you tryout the Aussie line? Also I’ve heard from my stylist that some brands of drugstore shampoos and conditioners can actually strip the hair. So can you do a drugstore shampoo and conditioner video to see which ones actually give you moisture, dry out your hair more, or are just horrible for your hair? Thanks so much! Love your videos!
