  • Robert, honestly, there's no need for you to try and "explain" the episodes anymore. The episodes this season and last season have been so stupid it's amazing that you and other channels are still trying to make it seem as if D&D actually had a plan here. They didn't and it shows. There so much going on that is simply unforgivable. I just wish that you would give them the critique they deserve. The cast and crew have worked so hard for the show to look good and make it work but with writing this bad... It simply doesn't work. I love you and your channel, you are always amazing but I need you to not be so apologetic of this horrible writing. D&D has destroyed George's legacy with this mess.

She takes your member in her mouth, and you moan with the pleasure of it and think, how sweet, how fine, how good this is... and then her teeth snap shut and your moans turn to screams... • Using dragonfire during an attack is NOT REMOTELY THE SAME AS DESTROYING THE WHOLE CITY AFTER A SURRENDER. You'd think this was patently obvious, but apparently not. It'd be one thing if the bells weren't rung, or it'd be one thing if, after they WERE rung, she destroyed the red keep/burnt the lannister soldiers, but this was stupid.

  • This episode has left a lingering queasiness in my gut. I can't believe the way they trashed 7.5 years of character development and emotional beats in their stampede for the finish line. Absolutely incomprehensible. (I'm looking at you, Jimmy Lannister. Wtf did you did with Jaime "burn then all/Kingslayer" Lannister.)

  • Varys had king's blood... he's the bastard child of a king... which I couldn't tell you, but that's why they took his "man bits" and put them in the fire, to do stronger fire magic like they did with Gendry. Varys had his head shaved at all times... think about why? Because he was a Targaryen and needed to conceal his white/blond hair lest King Robert kill him.

  • I distrust the assumption of J/C death because of previous twists. Be satisfied by it because it would make Jamie the Valonqar who has his hands on his sister’s throat as she “died”.

  • The horse could also have been warged by Bran who has no need of Drogon anymore.

    PeterJames FootePeterJames Foote7 days ago
  • At 10:55 in your video you notice what I did, that we never see Dany in control of Drogon as he burns. Consistently in this series assumed facts are often mistaken.

  • It’s intended to be horrific as a nuclear weapon unleashed on a city would be. I don’t think it’s an accident that the ash covering the city looks more like the destruction of Hiroshima/Nagasaki rather than Pompeii.

    PeterJames FootePeterJames Foote7 days ago
  • I think that Dany May try to kill Tyrian but will she succeed. He at root is a survivor and has many allies. The reason the bells ringing doesn’t work is because of Bran warging Drogon perhaps for reasons we can’t see. Though he does have motives, means and opportunity to ruin Dany’s hopes or destroy hidden resistance,

  • 1st They had Arya running scared for ads for the long night , to make us think she would die . She lived & killed the night king ! They made us think she would kill The evil Queen . She chose life & then tried to save others while running for her life . Now they are trying to make us think she will kill the mad Queen . Danny will be betrayed for love . If Arya does kills her it will be to save Jon . Or he will to save her & / or other Starks . Or the lest expected so it would be the biggest twist ! Gendry , who she thinks should be grateful / loyal , but forgot to have bend the knee when she gave him Storms End . He might kill her to save Arya , the woman he loves !

  • The simple reason that the show went down hill is because they ran out of book material because the books were written like a screenplay and made it super easy for sub par writers and directors to look good. Most of the awards that this show has received need to go directly to Martin. As far as this video goes I would have to say you did a great job and I almost totally agree with everything you said.

  • This is a good points but still the plot is too rushed and the turns are not logical. Yes, Dany had that evil side in her but still it is not believable that she had burned the whole city. Moreover, the show maked her turn into villain just overnight. Yes she had reasons to burn something especially after Misandei screamed "Dracaris". But it would be more consistent with the character that she will fly to Red Keep and destroy it. It could cause some battle on the ground and the burning that had been done already to the wall and Red Keep could cause wildfire explosions and that could make her look not so much heroic as she was before. Definitely Tyrion and Varis should be shown as villains as well. They did betray Dany. If Varis killed Dany as he wanted the war would lasted many years and would kill even more people on both sides. And really is burning Varis worse than beheading him? Both are barbaric punishment that westerosi are comfortable with. Arya also shown a little bit bipolar. One moment she is still determined to kill Cerci another she is not. It should not be rushed. Battle with Night king showed multiple problems from the strategy to why he wanted to kill 3eyed raven himself. Second dragon was killed so easy and after that Dany destroyed all the scorpions as if they were nothing. Again it simply was not well thought. So basically the plot is very unconvincing and poor written. Yes, I agree she could make mistakes that could make her look now as a bad person or mad queen but if the show would follow the way it was before that everyone is not particular evil or good then they should make it not so determined and not so cheesy.

  • I think the symbolism of the white horse was the pale horse and sat upon it was death from the 4 horsemen. I think Arya will take Grey Worms face. I think Jon will see "him" with Needle and think he has killed her. Arya will have to take it off. Jon will have to be the one to kill Dany. I wonder if she will tell Drogon not to kill him as he is the last male heir. His first reaction would be to burn him. I hope Drogon goes back to Valeria and is not killed. I do think Jon will go north to reunite with Ghost. This isn't a romantic show but I wish the Direwolves had been used. They are the sigel of the Starks and I wanted to see Nimeria and her pack again.

  • excellent like always ... but something is missing: Daenerys has fulfilled her vision. The angels of the Lord of Light took care in the last seasons. So I do think that Arya will confront Daenerys, and if Daenerys will return to the angel she was, then a new friendship may begin between Daenerys and Arya.Otherwise Arya will propably kill Danerys. And the angels of the Lord of Light can support Daenerys from now on ... so Daenerys still may be the best queen for the next decades of peace for westeros.

  • to be honest I exspected her to burn the city, but I still think the developement of her actually taking this final step could have been laid out better in the last two seasons. Also, it would have made more sense if she had started with destroying the Red Keep and therefore Cersei, and afterward kind of losing control and taking out the whole city. In my opinion at least

  • All Targaryens do not go mad; Maester Aemon in Castle Black was one of the sanest in the series. Dany was one child of three Targaryen children from parents who were mixed. She never showed any signs of actual madness; all her actions were the results of what needed to be done in the situation...until episode 805. I'm not buying any of this shitty excuse for a character development.

  • Thoughtful and informed, as always. I wish I could hear more from you about Jaime. He was one of the most fascinating and complex characters on GoT...but even so I think the writers should have given us more motive for that sudden abandonment of one woman he loved for another. It would have made sense if he'd come face-to-face with Cersei, if he'd been unable to resist her presence. But to just suddenly turn and leave all these people that he loves and wants to defend? I don't get it.

  • I don't like how they did this section. I think it would have looked more reasonable if Reagal had been alive and after the surrender someone kills Reagal with a spear. She would have had a reason to ignore the surrender. The way they did it, it just makes her look mad. If she truly wanted to get back at Cersei, she could have just gone for the Red Keep and burned that. But she doesn't. She turns against the whole city, burning innocent women & children, Lannister troops and HER OWN TROOPS.

  • I'm not sure what there is to explain about this episode. It was, hands down, the most-expected, least-surprising of the season (the first episode was a snoozefest). Dany becoming the Mad Queen has been evident since the middle of the first season. Characters were killed off to wrap up their storyline. Ta-Da! The only real f*ck up this season has been the entire Night King debacle. THAT was a clusterf*ck of epic proportions but everything else this season should have been completely anticipated to anyone who's watched this show even casually. No one ever wants a show they love to come to an end, and knowing well ahead of time that it is can be far worse than a sudden cancellation, but there have been no real surprises (save that cursed Night King fiasco - ARGH!) to complain about.

  • When Daenerys yelled that she would burn cities to the ground she did it to save her Khalasar. She did cruel things, but she acted on her ideals and cared for her people. This *can* still be the foundation for tyranny, but the show didn't develop it. I am looking forward to reading about Danys downfall in the books, but in the show there are a lot of differences between her and Cersei.

  • I'm just gonna go ahead a predict it now. I think Brahn/Bron (however you spell it) will kill Dany with the crossbow, saving Tyrion from being executed after his trial for treason. I'm predicting this because it's the one thing no one is really thinking about or talking about and clearly Dan and David just wants to do shocking things as opposed to what's consistent or earned.

  • The driving forces behind Jaime killing the Mad King was family and/or self preservation. MK told Jaime to kill his father or he'd have Jaime killed. That's it. Saving the city when he killed the Mad King, was just a byproduct of his actions but he in no way cared about the people of king's landing.

    quanxie013quanxie0139 days ago
    • +elvisglasses 5 It's not a theory and it's not bad writing, it is my one woman opinion from watching and listening to the episodes. Jaime doesn't tell the story and say he did it to save the people of KL he tells the story and says the MK told him to bring his the head of his father. Just because someone doesn't agree with your view doesn't mean it's bad writing, it means people are individuals and come to their own conclusion. As for character assassination I point you in the direction of the turtle and the scorpion. Not everyone who goes down the path of redemption stays on it.

  • First off: The biggest dragon of all time, Balerion, could MELT stone and COOK the people inside. HOW! HOW! does building just crumble here? Second: WTF happened with the prophecies of Maggy the frog? Cersei was NOT killed by any of her brothers! Third: So Dany has become mad. Like a switch. Some build up, but not a great build up. We know the Mad King became mad over years. She has at so many points protected the weak, that this build up didn't really do it justice. What if they had made the common people kill Mellisandre? Or something like that. At least SOMETHING to justify it.

    Fredrik FjeldFredrik Fjeld9 days ago
  • I don't understand why she didn't just go for Cersi rather than destroy a city she wanted to rule. Even after hearing reasons for Dany's actions from various you tube hosts, it still doesn't make sense in terms of the story line. I could see going directly for Cersi who was standing right there in the tower and then a blood thirst still not quenched, destroying the city. That would still raise the concerns of Jon, Arya and others who have followed her and believed in her and continue what I gather will be her demise, but not going after Cersi first just doesn't make any sense. The cinematography was amazing though.

  • I have not seen in ANY of the discussions about 8/5 that explains why Dany could NOT understand Jon's rejection . She had NEVER been informed of the deep Taboo in the North against incest! It would be a rejection of all the values Jon holds dear to break this taboo. Tyrion, Vary and Davoise all mentioned it when they talked about a wedding between Jon and Dany but NO ONE mentioned it to Dany. The second thing is the misunderstanding of how Dany was able to destroy the iron fleet when Rhaegal was killed so easy. A dragon WITH a rider is more agle and the riders has the ability to dodge the weapons.......Rhaegal reacted as a wounded animal, Drogon was controlled and directed..........Love your work, Robert....and of course that VOICE lol

  • The North remembers, John returns north in dispair, and leaves a destroyed kings landing to Daenerys. She plans war with the Starks. History may repeat itself if wildcard Arya murders Daenerys instead, by using her many-faced-God skills, she is a potential Queen slayer. If so, there will be peace and full mutual understanding between house Lannister and house Stark, but only if Jamy Lannister survives an decides to be king. Grey worm can always become king of Mereen and Dothraki. Bran may tell John to build a new wall of ice, just in case the dead are not totally dead, "the end of GOT"? Or is GOT one big lesson about the downfall of vulnerable kingdoms that heavily depend on the emotional stability of its king or queen, and how parliaments and democracy changed all that, so we might see a glimmer of democracy in the final episode? The iron bank of Braavos would certainly prefer democracies, such that they can introduce eternal 'national debt' that enslaves nations for ever, but this falls outside the scope of the GOT show for obvious reasons. David Benioff (born David Friedman) and Daniel Brett Weiss (both Jewish) know who owns the central BIS bank that enslaved the planet. Do you?

  • I'm very disappointed with the writing. I believe there is no concrete explanation for making Daenaerys harm innocent people. It is not in her character no matter how much anger or grief she felt. The fight between Jaime and Euron seemed out of place and had no real anchor in the storyline. Jaime disregarding his redemption and love for Brienne was also bizarre and disappointing. Season 8 overall has been a let down.

    Dominique AndersonDominique Anderson9 days ago
  • King's Landing, the symbolic dumpster fire. Apparently the scorpions are no longer effective when the plot armor requires it. I'm sorry but saying that her burning all the innocents in King's Landing was foreshadowed in the show is quite a stretch. She made threats and talked big because that was all she had before her dragons were full grown. If she was losing the battle and was on the brink of defeat, I might be able to accept her using a scorched Earth approach, but she demolished Cersei's army with little effort and then all of a sudden snaps. Complete nonsense. Her zealousness always came back to protecting innocents and being the breaker of chains, not kill them all and let the lord of light sort them out. GRRM told them that this was how Dany was going to end up and they decided to have her completely flip within the span of two episodes. If Rhaegal and Missandei are alive in Episode 5, she doesn't do this.

It is only worth expending this kind of effort at this point to cut it apart so that the world understands that D&D are talentless hacks, and that we may prevent them from being empowered to ruin other franchises (star wars) before its too late. Armies sure do love to wait outside walls they control rather than use them defensively all of a sudden in this show. Especially when it's convenient for some plot contrivance or another. Like, when Stannis attacked the same city the golden company were defending, and the forces defending the city used the walls and defended gates. Remember that? Dipshit and Dumbass seem to have forgotten, either that or they just didn't expect you to think about it at all. Either way its my fault for not enjoying the show at this point I'm sure. Granted, since scorpions got nerfed and dragon fire is equally as explosive as dynamite (unless its burning people in which case they turn to ash rather than exploding into fleshy shrapnel) I suppose team king's landing were doomed regardless.

    • Imagine thinking Star Wars isn't already ruined

  • It wasn't surprising that Danny went mad... it was suprising that she had cloned another army of unsullied and dothraki. And even more suprising that Drogon didnt get hit once and never runs out of fuel. And completley unbelievable that dragon fire can instantly smash apart brick and stone.

  • When Arya sees the white horse among the death and ruin.. I saw something apocalyptic and biblical.. I believe this scene was influenced by Revelation heavily

  • Maybe this is all Bran’s vision while he is gone during episode 3. Maybe he actually wakes up in episode 6 and Arya doesn’t get the kill? Then everyone will be left thinking maybe Dany wasn’t so bad after all...

  • I can't wait to see the first conversations between Dany and the other main characters. She is going to demand all bend the knee immediately and possibly go after those she sees as threats. Jon is the biggest threat so what will she do? Will Dany go straight to locking people up? Burning them?

  • Hints are not a substitute for proper character development. I like the idea of turning Dany into the Mad Queen, but think this was done very poorly indeed. The only way I can suspend disbelief is to say that she's simply genetically mad. Deus ex cerebrum. Very unsatisfying. Her character as presented in the series no longer rings true. Burning cities in order to conquer and destroy seemingly evil people isn't the same as killing civilians in a city that has already surrendered. It's still brutal and harsh, but this is psychopathic.

  • Bran is the true villain. He set all up to kill the Night King, he knew that Danny would kill all these people, so the Honour of john, will kill the dragon and her mother too. He has no empathy for anything now. He kills ice and fire magic, so the only magic left will be the old Forest Magic wich he belonged to! After that, he will go for the manny faced god, kill him and the faceless men, then the god of light and so on After he killed any human, nature can grow as it should and he would look after light through the faced trees. Without the night king, dragons and humans, life can be safe forever!!

  • If the writing/directing in this episode was good in regard to Dany, we shouldn't need to reaffirm a whole outside explanation just to make sense of it, that completely throws the drama of the last few seasons and her last scenes to s**t (let's just all agree on that). This already happened before most notably with Greyjoy. But still, thank you for the video, it was quite helpful : )

  • If Bran did see beyond just a dragon flying over KL, if he saw Dany burning the city and civilians and did nothing, do you think it's because it's the only way to have everyone of Westeros turn their back on her? Thanks to Varys' letters, will they choose Jon as king, would he accept it, or would it lead to the creation of a council or other form of governance? Is Bran such a passive player in the game?

  • Dany is a Targaryen. I don't mean to oversimplify this but this proclivity has been hinted at forever. I'd like to say that episode 5 was by far the best so far of season 8 in my opinion. Okay now to Dany's breakdown. There is a tendency by many who watch GOT to think in fairy tales or carytoonish notions. I hear/read it often with this thing about "character arcs." In real life there are no arcs however, there are only decisions and people make them every day. There aren't good guys and bad guys where good guys do good things and bad guys do bad things. Sometimes good people do bad things and bad people do good things. More often than not there are just people, people who do things that they deem to be good that others deem to be bad. Sometimes people do things they deem to be good and later realize it is bad. Let’s look at Maegor the Cruel, a truly mad and despicable Targaryen, yet I am sure if you asked him he would say he only did what he HAD to do. He would say he was confronted by a defiant and recalcitrant group of zealots and political opponents who forced him to be harsh or suffer the same fate as his feckless brother. Now we weren't able to see into Dany's head, in part because this is a made for television depiction and not a book, but surely it is clear that Dany is feeling persecuted, betrayed, isolated, and rejected. Here she is finally in King's Landing, "home", the place she has always dreamed of going and she realizes as she looks over at the Red Keep.... "this is not my home, this is not my people , this is not my city." More than that, these are probably the same people who helped destroy her family and given half a chance would plot the same for her. NO NOOO! She had had to deal with the harpys in Mereen, that must not happen here again. They must learn now. Learn now and learn clearly that she is not to be trifled with, she is not to schemed on (Machiavelli refers to it as “the once and for all”). They must BURN.
